MCKC and Carroll Cave takes privacy seriously. Here is our policy regarding data privacy on this web site. Effective 20 August 2018.

This web site does not host user logins except for its administrators. Therefore no user account data is stored.

The form for trip permit request is not stored on the web site. It is sent by email to our membership coordinator who generates a permit. The completed permit is emailed directly to the requester and is not stored on the web site. The complete form contains participant names, the names of emergency contact and their phone numbers. No other personal information is included.

Trip report forms are sent as email to an administrator who moderates them and then posts them to the Web site as a single document. Some personal data may be part of the post, depending on who wrote the trip report. In most cases the only personal information included is the name of the participants.

The forms for membership and liability waiver are not stored on the site. They are emailed to our membership coordinator who maintains an off-line database. The outbound emails pass through an unknown number of servers while transiting to the membership coordinator. Those sites may or may not store copies of the email. The emails are not encrypted and may not transit over encrypted links.

All comments to the site are moderated. We will remove sensitive personal information from any comment before making it visible to site visitors.

All comments to the site are analysed by Akismet for possible spam content. As part of that process Akismet may retain information about your TCP/IP address and the contents of your comment.

MCKC and Carroll Cave collect statistics about our site visitors using our hosting provider. These statistics are used to improve our service. No personally identifiable information is collected and the information is not passed on to any other entity. The data may include your TCP/IP address, operating system version and browser version.

We do not obtain personal data from any other source.

This site uses cookies to retain state information. Cookies are also used by some WordPress themes and plugins. Since we do not have user logins, the cookies do not include usernames and passwords.
